Among their standout offerings, the Classic Ceviche shines brightly, boasting the day’s freshest catch marinated in a tangy, zesty tiger’s milk, accompanied by crunchy canchita chulpi and the rich textures of choclo and creamy yam. For those craving variety, the Mixed Ceviche incorporates succulent shrimp and calamari, truly inviting your palate to a fiesta of flavors.

Main dishes are equally enticing, highlighting the diverse Peruvian fare. The Seafood Rice (Arroz con Mariscos) is a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds—consider a creamy seafood sauce enveloping tender calamari, shrimp, and the catch of the day, served alongside perfectly cooked rice. The Lomo Saltado is a local favorite, stir-fried to perfection, combining marinated beef with vibrant vegetables over fluffy white rice, offering a comforting and hearty experience.

In addition to its mouthwatering menu, Jora has garnered rave reviews from patrons who appreciate its authentic taste. We stopped by and tried a couple of the ceviches and a shrimp causa. They looked appealing and each had a unique taste. I expect the seafood to be the star of a ceviche dish and all three dishes seemed to be lacking with this. I may go back and try a main dish, but the ceviche was just not what I was expecting

Delicious Peruvian food in San Pedro square market. Everything was very well seasoned and fish was fresh. We really enjoyed every single dish! Ceviche was yummy and authentic, seafood rice was creamy and the seafood on top was well cooked. And the dessert was perfect end! I love rice pudding and this one was one of the best I have tasted! Mazamorra was very flavorful! Highly recommend this place! Will definitely come back plus the outdoor seating was pleasant. Came here on Thursday around 5pm and there was plenty of available seats that were cleaned after each guest.

I’ve been here a few times, and I have to say Jora is a delightful addition to the San Jose food scene. Peruvian food has an awesome mix of culinary heritage. I love the Lomo Saltado here - a stir fried beef dish that also has red onions, tomatoes, chiles, rice, and mild spice. The beef is always cooked medium, which is exactly what you want in a stir fry. The rice soaks up the sauce really well. The onions add a sweet and fragrant element to the dish. It’s really just lovely. The chaufas (fried rice) are also a solid option here. The seafood chaufa is a hefty portion, and has a solid wok aroma.

Great new place in the San Pedro Market!!! This place has so many food options including vegan ceviche. I had the fried plantains and the purple corn drink ( I cannot remember the name but it tastes amazing ). My brother in law is from Peru and was super excited by this place. The food is authentic and flavorful. The Alfajores were AMAZING. Perfect flavor and texture. Definitely will be a regular stop for me.

The classic ceviche is unique and interesting. They use tiger’s milk, a tangy liquid, to cure the fish, which you can see in the photo. It also comes with fried corn nuts which give it a nice taste of fat, corn, seaweed, and yam. I wanted more carbs in my meal but it was definitely interesting and authentic. The lolo pastado, steak and fries, was just okay. I liked how they didnt have too many fries and the fries were larger than usual. The meat was chewy and tough. There were some vegetables but I’d have preferred more. On top of this it was $19, which doesn’t do it any favors. The chicken and rice was fine.

This place has been on my radar for a long time and finally today I was able to try it. I had the vegan entree (sautéed seasonal veggies, grilled chimichurri tofu, Peruvian white rice, potato fries, uchu hot sauce trio). My friend enjoyed seafood rice (scallops, shrimp, catch of the day, creamy Peruvian bisque rice, parmesan, green peas, piperade) and we shared Chicha morada (a drink made from purple corn, fresh lime juice, cinnamon, star anise, clove, simple syrup) and of course dessert: ½ Mazamorra + ½ Rice pudding Everything was DELICIOUS! And yes, even the tofu on the Vegan entree was flavorful. The big surprise: Chicha morada, please give this drink a try. The staff is super friendly and explains each component of the dish and the waiting time: nothing, especially when you can see that everything is made at the moment you order, and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. So if you want to try something different, flavorful, and new, go there!

This plan is 100% unreal... San Pedro Square Market does not deserve ceviche or Peruvian food of this caliber. Unbelievably elevated cuisine. This is very similar to what you'd find in fine dining Peruvian. Several months ago I was introduced to Jora Ceviche from my brother-in-law who Peruvian born and raised. He's obsessed with Jora, I'm obsessed, my wife is obsessed... Pretty sure the whole family is obsessed. The classic ceviche is amazing. If you're not a fan of REAL heat, ask for mild on the spice level. Their main dinner dishes are delicious and perfectly filling. Anyone to knock their prices is ignorant. Fresh high-quality fish of this level cost MONEY :) Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!
